Found a gem here in York, comforting food during the cold

Had such high hopes but completely dashed by an awful experience. Menu was super restrictive, no chicken bao, and the pork belly was extremely fatty. Very poor experience in Spark

I have been coming for years and it always so great. We got the chip and dips, the dips were lacking flavour but the chips were good. The fried squid was also great but the portion size should be more. The Korean wings, this is the signature and it is MUST try- they are coated so well yet are so crispy and moist on the inside. For the buns we got the duck leg, which the servers politely trimmed, and the brisket which is beef. Both amazing but I definitely lean towards the sauce from the brisket and the duck for the flesh. Our total bill was about £85 with drinks which is reasonable for the location. Service was good but could definitely be worked on. Overall, a great experience!

Food was well cooked. The take on Padron Peppers was a bit different, expected more of them but the yuzu miso sauce was tasty. Also ordered the fried chicken with the buns. More buns would have been nice but were cooked well with a bit of sweetness. The chicken itself was a bit over cooked but well seasoned with a nice sauce.

We’ve been a few times and always love the food, this trip was no different! Aubergine bun is incredible, along with the chicken yaki, smoked pork rib, salad.We had our 6 month old baby this time - facilities are poor / non-existent to change a nappy, 3 girls on reception at the door watched my partner struggle to open the door with stroller in hand.Will go back for the food but facilities and service is not so welcoming.

Excellent food. Mushroom Baos and Coconut-Coriander Ramen. £5 each for Veganuary. Must place to visit if you like great Japanese food.

Went for the brunch on Sunday, honestly the best meal and most satisfied I've been in London.. the food only went from good to better throughout the service, and the bottomless drinks were very pleasant. Great staff, can recommend anyone give this a visit. To top off the amazing meal, you get to roast your own marshmallow dessert!

Ate here today, had mushroom and octopus takoyaki and the chicken wing curry, both tasted fantastic, really good quality and very good value for money, go and try something a little different, you wont regret it

Great food. The Tonkatsu ramen was delicious and pork was tender! The Katsu chicken and rice was yummy too! We had pork baos but ate it too quickly before taking a photo! A great business to have at Spark!!

Unexpected hidden food stall in Blackheath market run by a polite owner who seems very passionate about food. Very nice takoyaki and authentic curry !
