Outdoor sports shop

A friend recommended AD to me. I've been living in S.Wales for ten years and I recently decided to start fishing again. I was going to support the local fishing shop but my mate steered me toward AD instead. So glad he did!My employer gives me a £200 Well Being" bonus every year so I decided to put it towards a brand new fishing kit

Awesome shop layout. Makes the kids faces light up with joy. Got everything you can imagine. Kelly was exceptionally helpful with a can do attitude made my experience much easier in the busy store. Free parking, could do with a few more parent and small child spaces but I guess it’s not their carpark.

Went in to return a faulty pair of shoes that had a hole inside the shoes sole (and I'd only bought them a month ago). I was basically accused of lying about how often I'd used them and made to feel like it was my fault the shoes were ruined. Had barely any use of them! They begrudgingly gave a credit note for them but were acting totally unacceptable. Was appalling customer service from the manager - do not visit this store!!!!!!

Went yesterday for a gait analysis - Spoke to somebody working upstairs in Cotswold shop and was made to pay before even having the appointment, only to be told that my payment hadn’t gone through despite it showing up as paid on my banking app. The staff member was very rude, telling me I was wrong and after refusing to pay again, he eventually let me go down saying “that’s okay we’ll do it for free” (even though I had in fact paid). It made me feel so embarrassed, that I was given a free service as if I wasn’t willing to pay at all. So I go downstairs for my appointment where I questioned if the salesman could speak English - he kept gesturing to me to do things like sit down or run on the treadmill. After watching my running video back, he told me I had a neutral position when running and that was it. To think I paid £15 for that. He recommended three pairs of shoes, all of which were above £175. The whole thing felt like a money making scheme - didn’t ask me about what I wanted, how far I run, etc. Wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone, was a waste of time.

Steer clear of here for your own good. The only thing this store has going for it are its low prices, but even those won't tempt me to shop there again. The staff here are incredibly rude and obnoxious and sadly the manager is the worst of the lot of them, actually encouraging his subordinates to be rude to customers. I was at the back of the store looking at shoes today when I heard him at the other end of the store firstly being rude to a customer with another member of staff and then, when the customer left, he said to his employee, loud enough for everyone in the shop to hear, don't worry

If I could give 6 stars I would. I went to the store to find trekking shoes after trying to buy online and being disappointed (with another retailer). I don’t remember the name of the guy that helped me but he spent a good hour with me making sure we find the best shoes for me. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and loves outdoors themselves. Couldn’t recommend a better place to buy outdoors gear from.

If you can live with the prices (everything in there is very nice and none of it is cheap) it is way nicer than shopping online where the staff are so knowledgeable. Tbf it's only expensive because they sell good stuff.When I was looking for a waterproof jacket the assistant took me all the way through the process of what I'd be wearing it for, what clothes I already have, how much I want to spend etc. before making their recommendation. Definitely a cut above the customer service I've had in other places, maybe it's a general hiking shop thing but I really got the impression these people can make recommendations based on their own experience. Will be back when I need something else!

I was looked after so well! The sales assistant listened to all my health issues (arthritis in knees, inward gait, age) and my wanting to start running again. He measured my shoe size, and to my surprise, it seemed I had been buying the wrong size for a long time now. The first shoe he brought was perfect, it was comfortable, and I fell in love with it. The only downside was the colour, it is nice, but I would have preferred black. I tried a few other options, but they did not have what Guide 16 did. The best part, to my amazement, was that the sales assistant got it right straight away. I walked out of the shop wearing my new shoes :)

Great ski boot fit advice by Raheem. After 1h in Ellis B with no success he provided a boot fitting like a glove within 10 min. Worlds apart and a great professional. Thank you.
