Andrew Wood Jazz
I've been learning the drums with Andrew for 3 years, and thoroughly enjoyed it. He has taken me from beginner, through to my grade 5 exam, with distinction! As well as drum kit, Andrew has also taught me music theory and orchestral snare drum. I'd certainly reccomend him as a teacher.

If we could give these guys 6 stars I absolutely would. They were incredible. We booked this band June 2019, with a view our wedding would take place in 2020. However, with COVID, the band were so accommodating with moving our wedding 12 months. They provided the PA for the ceremony, as we held the wedding outside, did an acoustic set, and for the evening the provided 2 band sets. All the guests loved it and kept the dance floor busy at all times. We asked for a specific arrangement for our first dance, which was perfect, and to top it all, I featured in the band for one song, which was a dream come true to play live. Anyone looking for a band, then these are your guys...

Andrew is a fantastic musician and composer, as well as being incredibly knowledgeable in the music industry. I have been working with him for over two years and he has helped me develop original material and my confidence as a performer. I recommend Andrew and AB Music without reservation.

Jim Farey Drum Studio
I've always loved music (from classical to heavy metal) and played piano as a child for many years. Since childhood I always wanted to learn playing drums but never had an opportunity as I didn't have a drum kit or free time. Now I'm an adult, and a year ago I realised that I could still try learning to play drums making my childhood dream come true. I got an electric a drum kit and tried learning to play drums on my own, but it wasn't easy for a total beginner. So I ended up lacking confidence and losing the drive to do it. My husband (whose account I am using to post this) bought me some lessons with Jim as a gift. I got booked in easily and found my first few lessons really useful. As a woman (and an adult) I felt really worried about taking lessons and didn't know what to expect at all. But from the very beginning the lessons were relaxed and I forgot my nerves. I always felt that Jim is very friendly but at the same time he takes great care to teach as much as I can take during a lesson, whist communicating clearly and with systematic approach. So far, even though I've only had 5 lessons, we've played different grooves, fills and done some reading. Before my 5th lesson I tried playing a Michael Jackson song at home, but found it too challenging for my level. However, when I shared my thoughts with Jim during the following lesson, he helped me break the song down into learnable chunks, so I could try learning it and even played some of it (although it's still hard because it's so fast). Since that lesson I couldn't stop practicing daily -- I was finally able to learn a favourite song, hence my desire to play (and my confidence) grew even more. So far, the lessons are a balance of what I want to do and what Jim advises me are important areas to work on as a beginner.Jim is a nice guy and we get on very well. He has a sense of humour, so lessons are always easy going. He's friendly, professional and passionate about drumming, which really makes lessons useful and enjoyable. I'd recommend anyone who wants to learn to drum to definitely give Jim a call. His lessons are great value and enjoyable experience!

Very patient instructor with me. Amazing very friendly I'm dyslexic and she has shown me ways to understand what I need to to be able to read all paino music and remember different patterns in the music. Always happy to explain any questions I'm not sure on and will demonstrate if I ask to see something.I'm so lucky to have found her and I love my music lessons.

Cate is a lovely teacher. My daughter started lessons with Cate a year ago when she was 6 years old and she absolutely enjoys it. A year on, they are working towards their Prep test. Cate is kind, patient and has the ability to give clear instructions/ guidance in her lessons. Highly recommended.
