Just had our lounge, diner and kitchen renovated by JM Building Contractors and we're over the moon with the result. Work included demolishing an internal wall and adding a steel beam for support, bricking up an internal door, new ceilings, lighting, floor, skirting, door architraves, new kitchen installed and replastering every surface to finish the job. They got the job done within the predicted timeframe, and left site clear and tidied every day. Much thanks to James and the team for a great job. Would happily recommend to anyone.

In August 2016, we moved into a 1930s detached, arts-and-craft style 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom house here in Chorley. Whilst we fell in love with its period charm, the house was in dire need of modernising and we needed more space to accommodate our growing family. We trawled the internet looking for builders and architects in the area who were doing the kind of house renovations we liked – and came across Price & Price. Shaun was one of the very few builders who turned up to our appointments, answered our questions knowledgeably and, importantly, put us in touch with Rob Sherwood, a domestic property design consultant who then created the architectural plans for our renovation. We knew we wanted Shaun to bring those plans - a single-storey, flat-roof rear extension to house an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, together with a utility and downstairs shower room, converting the old kitchen and pantry into a 4th bedroom and creating a new front entrance and a widened driveway - to life, so we sought planning permission which was granted in 2017. They say good things come to those who wait – and we did have to wait for Shaun to start this build. We saw this time as a useful period to hone in on our design choices and, soon enough, Shaun and the team started our 16-week build in March 2018. We lived on site throughout the renovation. There was a lot of demolition and digging in those first few weeks – a LOT of mud and mess – but the team were considerate, punctual and fast. They worked in all weathers – snow, hail, even when the Beast from the East hit – and that kept us on schedule. If there was a day when no one was due on site, we were informed, but we only recall that ever happening twice. Shaun was available throughout the build (as he was before it started and after actually) so we were always in the loop as to what was happening on site. If we did have any concerns or issues, he would always respond, quickly and often face-to-face, and that really helped keep our anxiety levels under control.We’ve had brickies, diggers, labourers, roofers, sparkies, plasterers, plumbers, tilers, window fitters, kitchen fitters, joiners, woodsmen and building yard delivery drivers here – all co-ordinated by Shaun to ensure we got the finish to this renovation that we wanted. And we have no complaints – Shaun and the team brought this build in on time and to budget and we are now living in a very beautiful home that better accommodates our family and, as confirmed by local estate agents, has hugely increased in value (above our building spends). We would not hesitate in recommending Price & Price Building Ltd to anyone in need of home improvements.
