.In October 2017 I ordered a wood burning stove from The Fireplace Centre. The knocking out of the old fireplace went well as did the ordering of the stove and the slate hearth. However, Phil Shaw’s fitters from Wythall failed to get the stove pipe vertical. They were called back and did some work saying, “that is the best we can do”. They were called back a third time and this time got it straight.However, in the original fitting, they failed to fix the hearth to the slate as the instructions required, with the result that, within a year, the fire had twisted through 10°. I informed Phil in November 2108, December and again in January 2019. He then arranged an appointment for them to come and fix it. They didn’t turn up. No explanation or apology from Phil. Another appointment was arranged. They didn’t turn up. No explanation, no apology. This pattern repeated itself four more times after which I wrote to Phil in May 2019 saying that I had been advised to draw a line under my dealings with him and find somebody else to fix the stove to the hearth and send him the bill. This I did and received a cheque from the company.

I recently contacted Neil at Katell regarding some information I required to deal with an end user of one of their fires. The information was provided instantly via email allowing me to resolve the issue. Excellent, professional and friendly service.

Owner is extremely rude and arrogant, fireplaces are over priced you can get same model online for a lot less. They sell a one stop shop with customer care, without knowing how to treat a customer and listen to them. Dreadful!My fireplace is due to be installed next week, will update this review accordingly!

I called to fully fit a new kitchen including all appliances and also to fit new doors. The work was carried out to perfection at a reasonable cost. The quality of the work was superb and very professional. I called again for bathroom tiling and have highly recommended to several friends as this was the best quality workmanship I found in London during my renovation.

So made up with my new gas fire and fireplace. Fitters were excellent so quick and tidy. Would recommend to anyone
