Kinnaird Woodland Lodges Pitlochry
Excellent location but lodge not very private. Shower not waterproof so room floor flooded when showering. Hot tub lid support broken and non functional. On the plus side...lovely lodge and place was spotless and well serviced. Very comfortable furnishings etc. Just needs some TLC we feel.

Newland valley log cabins
Peaceful log cabins fitted to a good standard. They make a very good impression when you arrive. Surrounded by trees so midges quite a problem. We had lovely weather and sat outside on the verandah. A nice outdoor sofa would be fab as we didn't trust the creaky chairs.Lovely country kitchen but not many places to store our groceries. As someone mentioned before, the lights could do with being brighter. It is a lovely peaceful place to stay, with the sound of birdsong instead of road noise.I have given 3* mainly because of the beds being much harder than we like so we didn't sleep very well, but this might suit some people.

Barend Holiday Lodges
First time we have stayed here but not first time to the area.We stayed at lodge 49. We chose this for the free Wi-Fi and because it was dog friendly. What a great place this is.We collected the keys from reception, if you are arriving later like we were planning to then you can collect the keys from the on-site restaurant. Easy. Then we got access to the lodge and was surprised it came with sky tv and Netflix, big bonus. Wi-Fi speed was 56mbs which for down here is excellent. The lodge was very clean and tidy, and despite being “pet friendly” there was zero previous smell of pets. Testament to the cleaning staff. The lodge had everything you needed and the bathroom was new. Really couldn’t fault it.The overall park is great. They have a dog friendly restaurant called the Beagle and a pool too for kids if you have them. The whole place is clearly well cared for with lots of signs and evidence that the lodges on whole are well looked after.A short walk is the local beach, or if you drive it’s 1min away but will cost you £5 to park for the day. There are double yellows everywhere else so you have no choice but again if you walk it’s downhill and no more than 10-15 mins max.We had lunch at the on-site restaurant which was great and then dinner at The Anchor in kippford which is very dog friendly and then dinner twice at a place called Nikos in Castle Douglas. Twice, it’s that good and again dog friendly too.You can read my separate reviews for both of these places but well worth a visit. All in all sad to be heading home but will be back here. Such a great place.

Home Farm Touring Park
What a find this place was. Spent 2 days here with family. A nice peaceful site, perfect to relax and unwind. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will certainly go back soon.Facilities were always clean, and the site is also clean and tidy. The owners were very friendly and were always willing to help. Nice little shop run by one of the sons with a few camping bargains always worth a browse.

PKL Group (UK) Ltd
We had a loss of gas at my unit and this company were excellent in there help in resolving the matter. I got guidance on what equipment I could hire for the circuits I had. I extended easily enough and then managed to cancel when we had gas back. A very professional company who dealt with all my needs very quickly.

Craighill Holiday Park
This place is ideal for people like myself who are working in Aberdeen a temporary basis. No lease or Council Tax involved. What more can you ask?It comprises a small number of wooden cabins and static caravans, so doesn't feel crowded. I stay in one of the cabins, which is well appointed with a modern kitchen/lounge area, shower room and bedroom. It also has gas central heating. Gas is supplied in bottles and a JGas representative is on site to replace. Parking is available directly outside cabin or caravan. The site owner is a friendly guy who has always been happy to address the (few) snags that I have had.All in all, Craighill was a good find. Far better than some of the overpriced hovels that I have stayed in whilst working in Aberdeen over the years.
