Wetherspoons has taken a hit PR wise but this place is made better because of its staff! Prices are silly cheap as well! Only downside is a lack of music

My first time at a spoons". Had I known what I was getting into I'm sure I would have liked it more.Food was edible but not great. The atmosphere makes you think you're walking into an authentic Scottish pub but it's a chain. The American equivalent would be something like an upscale Waffle House. The staff was great though

Brutal honesty here. All the surfaces here; including the tables, chairs, menus, forks and knives are sticky and in need of a very serious clean. Most of the food served and presented is below the average standard of pub grub. Chances are you'll end up getting a wrong order (trust me, I've seen it happen.) That also includes your drinks. Speaking of drinks, this spoons happens to never re-stock their barrels. Every bloody pint I've had was still and watery and what did the staff do upon complaint ... ? Nothing. If you're coming here with a pal for a nice drink, meal and conversation ... Good luck to you. When it reaches 7:00 in the afternoon, every table and chair is filled by either groups of young drunk folk or drunk pensioners trying to speak as loud as possible. The entire building sounds like a Metallica concert by noon because of the amount of people talking. What makes it worse is everybody trying to compete over each other , therefore shouting even louder , constant loop of noise. The smoking area is either filled with 'creepy joe' pensioners speaking a load of nonsense or young lads high on substance bouncing about so good luck having a cigarettte.Overall , this spoons is more of a drinkers bar compared to a resteraunt bar. I'd recommend it for a night or two , but not as a regular stop unless you're catching some pre-pints before a pub crawl !!

An 'ok', 'Spoons, popular with all ages, hard working staff, microwaved haggis, neaps and tatties was too dry but tasty. Excellent well kept beer. Amazing facade but the interior of this converted former Methodist Church is smaller than many other Spoons

Firstly, may I say that my previous experiences, school reunions, Birthday dinners etc in your establishment have been excellent, with excellent service. I was surprised therefore yesterday to find myself being told off by a bearded young gentleman in the management team loudly and rudely, and in the most public and embarrassing way possible, for an imaginary incident involving my having just urinated in public. We returned from the smoking area to find our dinner, which we had only begun to eat, had been transferred to the bin. It was explained that the brief trip to the smoking area had taken over half an hour. If an accommodation could be reached regarding the ruined dinner, I would be most grateful.

It is a weatherspoon. I was forced to go here by the majority in my group. I would not have chosen to go here. Staff were lovely. Food was the same as any cheap pub grub.

Proper Scottish name for my second spoons while I was visiting Scotland!!! Great pint and food served by friendly and efficient staff!!! Car park just up the road but be aware you need a parking disc to use it from the police station near the car park.Worth a visit if your in the area and love Wetherspoons like me!!!

I had a breakfast muffin which was grim. Muffin was cold, bacon was tough, fried egg was cold and tough whilst the cheese didn't have enough heat from it's surroundings to melt it. Sausage was warm and seemed fresh. I did eat most of it as I as I was hungry and it was edible. I mentioned this to the shift supervisor who cleared my plate and he did apologise but did nothing further. I have had many of these breakfast muffins in a range of wetherspoons and this was by far the worst.

A friend and I went here for a later evening meal. At the bar i mentioned that I don’t know much about beer but wanted to try a local one. I ended up with something light and fruity, but unfortunately it was flat. No bubbles (that’s what takes the last star away). We waited a rather long time for the food, but being very hungry it proved to be worth the wait. Fish & chips was hearty, but not enough salt (or any!) and the Bangers & mash was solid. We tried haggis for the first time and the waiter asked us for a reaction, which was pleasant. Staff was overall friendly and the environment was easygoing. I’d recommend this place to anyone in the same situation.

Dreadful food! Double Cheeseburger with a pint, cost me £9.00 and was absolutely awful. Tiny burger with a very small portion of chips&that was it!!! Barely enough for a child, covering less than 1/2 the plate.Worst food in a Wetherspoons EVERThe pub itself was reasonable, with friendly staff & a little outdoor seating area BUT the food really can't be excused.
