Visited Grantland Timber on Saturday to find a feature beam for our kitchen. Jerry was really helpful and showed us around their extensive stock. Our chosen piece was then milled to size while we waited. Excellent service, friendly helpful staff, beautiful location and a great price.

Timber yards are not normally set up for the visiting public, but Grantland is an exception. Send them an email to arrange a visit and you'll be met by enthusiastic and knowledgeable guys who are happy to help. They have a wide selection of native hardwoods - lots of spalted beech, brown oak, ash etc. Prices for plainer boards are very low, and those for the more exotic ones are still extremely reasonable. If you want a character beam or some live edge shelves Grantland is absolutely ideal. Last time I went they also had some pieces for turning including laburnum. I've also made some furniture from their boards. A must-visit for anyone who loves wood or is looking for a feature piece for their home.

We bought a Christmas tree from Grantland Timber, they were very friendly and helpful, we got to choose our tree, which was cut down in front of us, and got a tour of the farm. Lovely experience and a lovely tree.

These guys mean business! Met the boys when my wife and I went to their beautiful spot in mid Devon to suss our what wood we wanted for shelves. The lads were passionate, accommodating and obviously knew their stuff. We ordered around 17 beautiful shelves varied in size and species and they delivered on a Saturday evening when all was ready! They had their chippy plane them up so all I had to do was oil them up. Would highly recommend Grantland timber! Very affordable and something pretty special about picking your wood sustainably, choosing your measurements/thickness rather than just ordering it online for a ridiculous price and nowhere near the quality!

Very knowledgable team who are passionate about nurturing their woodland to provide an ethical forestry and timber service. Their timber has been used in my verandah roof and decking balustrade and has only travelled five miles from sawmill to site. How sustainable is that, especially as I was able to help out with replanting some of their woodland!
